Bike tour with forest tour on 02/08/2025

Trees under climate stress: Unfortunately, climate change has long since arrived in Mainz and Rheinhessen and is clearly noticeable! We have just experienced an extremely dry spring. How much has the Lenneberg Forest suffered from the drought?

The accelerating global warming is causing great fear among many people. We, the Scientists for Future Mainz, want to counter this fear with information and show how we can counteract the overheating of the earth.

The climate crisis is particularly visible in Mainz’s Lenneberg Forest, one of the most important recreational areas in the region. We therefore invite you to a cycle tour followed by a guided tour of the forest. We will meet on 2 Aug. 2025 at 4 pm at Ernst-Ludwig-Platz (Große Bleiche next to the Electoral Palace) and cycle together to the ‘Älteren Wendelinuskapelle’. We will meet there at 5 pm and then be guided through the forest by forest warden Stefan Dorschel. There will be plenty of time for discussion and further input. We look forward to seeing you there.
