Trees under climate stress: climate change is also leaving its mark in Mainz. Ever since the dry years of 2015, 2018, 2019 and 2020 and their dramatic effects on the forest population, it has been clear that climate change has long since arrived in Mainz and Rheinhessen and is clearly noticeable!
The coming climate catastrophe will require a major change in our way of life and is causing a great deal of fear. We, the Scientists for Future Mainz, want to counter this fear with education and show you the opportunities that climate change can bring – if we act now.
The climate catastrophe is particularly visible in Mainz’s Lenneberg Forest, one of the most important recreational areas in this region. We therefore invite you to a bike tour followed by a guided tour of the forest. We will meet on 26.07.2024 at 4 pm at Ernst-Ludwig-Platz (Große Bleiche next to the Electoral Palace) and cycle together to the “Älteren Wendelinuskapelle”. We will meet there at 5 p.m. and will then be guided through the forest by forest warden Stefan Dorschel. There will be plenty of time for discussion and further input.
Participation is free of charge and registration is not required. We look forward to seeing you!
